Featured Presentation:

How did you get in there, and who said you could do that?

Pat Phelan, GIR Involta, LLC.

The presentation will cover SQL Server Authentication, Windows Authentication, Roles, Groups, and how they interact. It will also cover the basics of SQL Server permissions: what permissions there are, how they are applied, and an overview of how the permissions interact. This presentation won't cover every aspect of SQL Server authentication and permissions, that would take a day or more! It will give newcomers a good understanding of what is possible and how to go about it. It will also give experienced users a review of the important points and maybe a new trick or two!

About Pat:
Pat Phelan first joined a computer user group (DECUS) in High School, and has joined many more since then. Pat worked many jobs in high school and college, and over twenty years for a major accounting firm. Involta builds, owns and operates world class colocation datacenters and also provides managed services and support staff to clients.
